Tuesday Ten: First Impressions

Meeting new friends? First day of school? New job or internship? Open day at college? Or meeting your boyfriend's family? All of these are first impressions, which are important - obviously! Want some quick tips? Be friendly and be yourself, ask lots of questions about themselves and their interests and they'll love you! Yes, it's the inside that counts but before they meet you, really, their first impression of you is how you're dressed so here are 10 things to wear on any type of first impression...

Jeans - Gucci, shirt - L'Agence, blazer - Alexander Wang, wedges - Topshop, dress - Topshop, skirt - Aubin and Wills, necklace - Ippolita, bag - Miu Miu, top - Splendid, ring - Kenneth Jay Lane

Key things:

Be colourful but not attention-grabbing. No bright red or all-black.
Familiar hair, which is easy and comfortable.
Highlight your eyes, as eye-contact is constant.
Choose similar fabrics, avoid too many textures or prints.
Accessorize, show off your personality.

Heels (not too high!)

Best Dressed At the TCA's: Taylor Swift

Oh, my, gosh...Taylor Swift made her red carpet appearance at the Teen Choice Awards in a sweet Lucia Hohan LWD, Edie Parker clutch and nude peep-toe pumps from Prada. The look is equal parts sweet and sexy, thanks to sheer detailing and a cutout back. Meanwhile, a pair of coral drop earrings complete her look. I think she looks like a little Angel, so elegant, fresh and feminine. The silhouette, shoulder line and colour compliments her gracefully and I haven't seen a celebrity look this pretty on the red carpet in a while. I also think Lea Michele looked lovely, Nikki Reed and Selena Gomez also. But I don't think anyone can compare to Miss Swift...just simply stunning!

Autumn Trend #2: Let's Join the Military!

Attention! Military style is a huge trend which is going to rock all A/W long. But as a 2012 twist, there's no camouflage, it's all about the chunky, khaki army jackets (see third outfit collage) and statement, bulky footwear.
