Black and White, Marylebone

Hello, hello ladies. It's been a crazy month cracking on with my university work but now that's all completed, you'll be seeing a lot more of me on here (feel free to boo or cheer.)

November greeted us Londoners with the most bittersweet chill. A chill so cold that my skin has glued itself to this fluffy Mango coat, making me permanently resemble a polar bear. I've shared this faux fur number numerous times, and it wasn't until today that I realised I always style it in the same way (case in point here and here.) So while I wish I was showing you all something uniquely inspiring and revolutionary today, it's safe to say my style, still a year later, is pretty simple, understated and well, monochrome. So here's to more noir et blanc...

Hey Spring!

It's March. It's spring. And I'm finally back with a new blog post! I've been a little quiet over the past month due to university work and celebrating my birthday, but I'm returning with lots of fun content to share.

First up, we have this beautiful backless bow bodysuit from Topshop I bought a few weeks ago. It's the prettiest thing and works fabulously for both day and night. But it was my go-to top of choice on a spring day exploring...and hey, it was almost 18'C which is practically summer in London if you ask me.

January Style Notes...

New year, new style? Just kidding. I'll still be sporting a loose-fit pair of jeans teamed with a navy jumper and smart coat until I'm ninety. It's a classic combination our Parisian friends adore, and one I will always care to adopt (even if it is to pretend I'm Jeanne Damas). So expect nothing less in this post other than a slightly more elevated masculine look that I've been loving lately and wish to wear come 2017. Expect a flurry of oversized pinstriped blazers, devastatingly chic loafers and sexy shirts. So below are my January style notes - a little scrapbook of inspiration I shall to turn to when I just have nothing to wear...

November Style Notes...

All photos taken from Pinterest
It's only a week until November officially begins and I'm already seeking sartorial inspiration for the coming month ahead. The chillier the days get, the only more excited I become since layers bundle up, coats get cosier and the never-ending excuse to buy more coffee to "warm up your hands" increases. As a result of this excitement, I've been pinning away on my Style Notes board (who am I kidding...I'm always frivolously pinning) and have assembled quite the collection of autumnal fashion inspiration. So without further ado, here are your November style notes...

Style Inspo: From Summer To Autumn

The transition from summer to autumn is not abrupt - long, Indian summer days are not instantly swapped with the chilly, frosty mornings and dark evenings of autumn. It's a slow transition. And one that so often confuses us with what to wear - it's too warm in the afternoon to be wearing a cosy knitted jumper, but much too cold to leave it behind in the morning. Yet, fear no more, I've put together a few snaps thanks to Pinterest to inspire your transitional wardrobe. Enjoy!

Ways To Style: Summer Denim

I love denim. Denim jeans, shirts, jackets, shorts, skirts - you name it, and I either have it or want it (it's an obsession my purse nor bank account admires). There's something about this tough fabric that is quintessentially cool, perhaps due to it's manifestation of the nineties or it's effortlessly stylish wearer. It adds a certain toughness to an outfit that would be absent without it, and when teamed with other fabrics such as silk or leather, an outfit becomes instantly playful, chic and cool.

Yet, denim can be a little warm for the summer months due it's thickness. But, with a little know-how and styling, and you'll never be denim-free. Here are a few ways you can style denim for summer...

My Met Gala Best Dressed List

Blake Lively, Karlie Kloss
I know, I know. You're probably all fed up with seeing Met Gala photos by now, however I just couldn't resist sharing with you all my favourite looks. I seldom feature celebrity style on ATF but considering the fashion stakes were so high this year at the event due to the incredible and interesting theme of "Manus Versus Machina: Fashion in An Age of Technology", I had to make an exception. There were so many beautiful and creative looks that perfectly fitted the breif - be it through futuristic metallic shades in favour of technology's impact on fashion or intricate hand-embroidery to show the power of hand craft. I can't quite decide who's my favourite look is, but I must confess that I rather love Kate Hudson's Versace look. There's something so mechanical and deconstructed about it, and it perfectly frames her feminine figure. Yet, I don't think anyone can deny Claire Danes' Cinderella gown (that FYI...lights up!) is one beauty of a dress! Click below to see more of my favourite looks from the 2016 Met Gala.

Oh, Hey May!

I know everyone says it every month - but how crazy is it that it's May already! I've got so many exciting things coming up this month such as my very last day of sixth form and senior prom, but then I'm still in the throws of endless revision for my June exams. However, I'm keeping positive by wanderlusting over dreamy adventure snaps over on Pinterest and thinking of the long summer ahead.

So without further ado, let's jump into some May inspo. This month is all about rugged, loose denim teamed with either slinky lingerie-inspired blouses or nautical stripes. Ahoy to a new month!

Snapped: London Fashion Week

As you've probably seen from my other recent blog posts, last week I popped over to London Fashion Week at Brewer Street Car Park, Soho to see the vast array of lust-worthy street style. Of course, I attempted to play my part and dress in something I loved wearing to showcase my style.

My First London Fashion Week - Pt 2

Today I'm back with some more of the street style I snapped over at London Fashion Week a few days ago. There were so many extraordinary sartorial creations - hence why this post is split in to two! Speaking of which, click here if you want to see the first part, but for now let's indulge ourselves in some more covetous street style...

Off the Runway: The Best CFW Street Style...

At the heart of ATF's values lies the desire to be inspired by others, to learn how to cultivate style and admire creative originality. So of course street style is a huge part of this, and as the street becomes its own catwalk during fashion week, the style stakes are at their highest. As the spring/ summer Couture Fashion Week comes to a close, below are my favourite street style snaps...

HELLO FEBRUARY!

I'm so excited that we're finally into the last month of winter; so long gloomy days of winter's past, and hello bright-and-early mornings filled with endless cups of coffee, vivid flowers blooming with exuberance and...maybe a drizzle downpour of rain or two. This February, expect to see fresh, crisp whites in abundance, alongside delicate dashes of rose, light grey and denim blue. Here is your February style bible.

Current Beauty Icon: Gigi Hadid

Everyone loves Gigi Hadid; be it for her model-off duty style, her envious lifestyle or beautiful looks. She's adored across the globe. I for one have been absolutely loving Gigi lately - her effortlessly dewy, fresh yet glamorous beauty looks are second to none. From beachy waves and nude glossy lips, to slicked back chignons and thick eyeliner - every look is different, which is what makes her style so captivating and interesting.

Above and below (click read more) are some looks of Gigi's that I've recently been loving.

To Love Or to Hate: The Cropped Flare

It's a rare occasion for me to talk about trends; if I'm bluntly honest, I can't stand them and totally agree with the infamous Karl Lagerfeld quote of "trendy is the last stage before tacky". However, I for one am loving the sudden ubiquitous cropped flare. With a seventies, free-spirit, summer-livin' vibe, this denim garment was spotted on everyone from Alexa Chung to all of our favourite bloggers at Fashion Week. This new classic is suitable for all seasons too - pair with a cropped sweater and neck scarf for a seventies boho look in summer, or team with an oversized blazer and crisp white shirt for cosy, autumnal chic.

In need of some more convincing? Take a look at the snaps above and below!

What do you make of this trend? Yay or nay?
