Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress!

Commoner one day, Royal the next. Today, 29th April, was the day that William and Kate got married in Westminster Abbey. Kate wore a stunning white lace Sarah Burton (Alexandra McQueen) gown. Long sleeves, plunging neckline, fitted and a reasonable length train - this all makes a stunning dress! Victoria Beckham wore a beautiful black knee-length off-the-shoulder dress with and an abstract headpiece whilst Pippa (Kate Middleton's sister) wore a gorgeous white simple long gown. Kate, Victoria and Pippa were the best dressed women alongside the Queen, Carole Middleton and Princess Beatrice.

Pssssst! Rumor has it - Kate did her own make-up!

Your Need-It-Now Dress Is Here!

On-Trend Tribal - The tribal trend will never go out of fashion. This fake embellished dress give an excuse not to wear a necklace. However, bangles and hoop earrings gives a party feel but minimalistic and a cardigan gives a laid-back look.

Ladylike Lace - from neon to nude, lace is the fabric to be seen in at the moment. The ruffled shoulders give swimmer-shoulders a great shape. Wear nude lace with scarlet accessories for 'sexy dinner date' vibe.

Prada Stripes - Even though there is a stunning look-alike dress from Oasis, no-one can top off Prada's S/S Collection dress! Hailee Steinfeld has been seen wearing Prada's candy striper but can you pull off Oasis' version? Keep accessories minimal but wear with a cute Ascot topper for a day at the races.

Vintage Vamp - Perfect for the California meets Mrs Granny trend! This body-con dress from Topshop not only shows off killer curves but goes with everything from day-to-night blazers to neon lace and skyscraper heels.

Power Panels - Great for showing off slim figures as they streamline the figure but add subtle killer curves.

Pleated Pretty - Love this figure-hugging chocolate dress. Pleats go with practically anything but where this type of dress with an embellished trophy jacket and sky-high heels to show off them killer legs or yours!
Splatter Attack - The perfect sun frock - great length, silky fabric, bold colour and an amazing print. Wear your splattered dress with colour-block wedges that picks out a colour from the dress to highlight that colour. Wear a black cover-up but keep accessories to a minimum.

New Celeb Uber-Trends You Can Afford!

  • BOLD STRIPES - The more colourful the better! Try graduating stripes (get bigger towards the end) for an investment or try more abstract to be daring! Diagonal or vertical can be slimming so be sure to hit the gym for the horizontal stripes!
  • WHITE JEANS - Ashley Tisdale and Amanda Seyfried have already been seen wearing white jeans. Flared white jeans can give a 70's retro look but skinny but give an NY girl-about-town look. Pair you white jeans with loose blouses and tan accessories.
  • TAN ACCESSORIES - Tan accessories actually give a tanned glow to your skin. Tanned belts look great with a boho style but why not try a tan necklace?!
  • KOOKY COLLARS - Experiment with an unconventional collar - hot off the Balenciaga runway. An embellished collar is great for an evening look. Neon lace, animal print or polka dots can be great for a day look.
  • ARMY COVER-UPS - Forget denim jackets! Army cover-ups can be great for a rainy day. Utility pockets add interest and double up as storage festivals.

Happy Pleat

Ballerina fever took hold after sweeping skirts commanded the Chloe and Lanvin shows. Plisse pleats in nudes, pinks and sludgy shades look fresh and ultra feminine. Counterbalance a wide floaty skirt with a fitted top in a tonal shade. Add interest to the look with an embellished statement top or jacket.

So how did people style them? Visit www.elle.com for more examples of how people styled their pleated skirts.

Here are some examples. Remember - It doesn't matter about the length, colour or fit. Pleats are a major investment so be sure to splash out the cash!
