Plum Pouts...

One thing that super excites me about autumn other than pumpkin soy lattés (actually, can anything trounce that?) and cosy movie nights in, is the plum pouts that we finally get to sport. However, I'm going to let you in on a secret, I may of been wearing rich, plum shades throughout the whole of summer (in fact, I never really stopped since last autumn). There's just something about plum and burgundy. Perhaps I like it against my pale skin or the fact that it's a bold statement that teams perfectly with a minimal outfit. Either way, I can't wait to finally relish in a sea of plum shades; from burgundy to wine to oxblood. So, in homage to my fetish for all things plum, let's take a look at my favourites lip products in this shade...

  1. M.A.C Lipstick in Plumful - A beautifully glossy, natural-looking plum shade with a pink undertone. This is every beauty blogger's favourite.
  2. NARS Lipstick in Anna - A sheer, semi-matte plum shade with a cool, blue undertone. Team this lippy with soft grey eyeshadow.
  3. Clinique Chubby Stick in Grandest Grape - My favourite of them all, I can often be seen sporting this come the chilly autumn days. Grandest Grape is a rich oxblood shade which is perfectly glossy but not sticky.
  4. Nars Lipgloss in Dolce Vita - This rich and glossy plummy brown is the perfect compliment to a shimmery gold eye.

Autumn/ Winter Wishlist

Autumn is just around the corner, or in fact, it's been here since July according to London. Nevertheless, it's my favourite season; the cosy evenings by the roaring fire, the crisp foggy mornings and endless hot chocolates. I also prefer dressing for autumn; the layers, colours and structured silhouettes are much more style than the frilly dresses of summer (but don't get me wrong, I do love easy-breezy summer dressing!). So, here's my wishlist for autumn/ winter 2015...

  1. Topshop black pleated top
  2. Zara aztec printed dress
  3. Topshop mustard waistcoat
  4. Topshop black and leopard print loafers
  5. Zara trench coat
  6. Topshop cropped grey polar neck

What's on your autumn/ winter wishlist?

What's On My Face #23: The Everyday Makeup Edition

It's been a rather long while since I've been meaning to create an 'everyday makeup' tutorial, but here it finally is. Fresh, light-as-air and hella' natural. This is the makeup combination I've been sporting every day for years, it's the classic 'Emma' look...

Sun, Drinks and Goodbyes

As the sun pierced through deep shadows, we hiked our way through a forest of trees up at Furi before eventually reaching the suspended bridge. The bridge sits over a glacier and gently wobbles with each foot step - not for the faint hearted! But the thrill-seeker that I am, I was in my element. Click below to see more.

Feelin' Grey.

Forget the ubiquitous all-black look that everyone sports these days, and instead turn your wardrobe palette to a shade lighter. Grey is the new black.

I've always adored the colour grey - it's incredibly chic, sexy and versatile. It's a great basic colour that is a more stylish and modern alternative to black, with the likes of Kendall Jenner opting to wear the shade head-to-toe.

Grey is typically quite a masculine colour - with it's association with boring work suits - but can easily be complimented with soft, pale pink for added femininity. Personally, I love teaming this colour with a black leather jacket for a tough look, or with a loose white shirt and sneakers for a casual, cool option.

Don't be fooled into thinking grey is a conservative, predictable and dull colour. Check my Pinterest board for proof.

What is your favourite colour?

With the weather taking a slightly cooler turn, all of our minds are starting to wander from summer's bikinis and shorts to autumn's jeans and jackets. What better way to start compiling your next season shopping wishlist than with Topshop's autumn/winter 2015 look book, modelled by It girl of the moment Gigi Hadid in her first campaign for the brand?

Above the Clouds...

After waking up to yet another deep sea of blue in the sky, we caught the train up to Riffelalp. Riffelalp is yet another hamlet just above Zermatt, and sits right on the mountain side. When our chunky boots graced the hard rocks and stones of the path, we were greeted with a magnificent view. We were above the clouds. And that's exactly how we felt inside too; elated, euphoric and free like birds.

We began our hike of the day by walking through Grunsëe, only half way however as we were planning to walk the two hours down to Zermatt. Click below to read more...

Swiss National Day

Waking up to this majestic mountain every morning was euphoric and a sight I certainly didn't want to say goodbye to anytime soon. Luckily on our third day in beautiful Zermatt, we decided to relax around the town and immerse ourselves in the Swiss culture, with the Toblerone mountain planted right in front of our eyes all day. This was particularly moving as it was Switzerland's birthday - Swiss National Day. A day I adore to celebrate every year in this second home of mine. Click below to see more.

What to Wear On Rainy Summer Days

I'm convinced London skipped summer this year. Endless grey days filled with outbursts of rain and gusts of wind have led me to think that autumn began around June. My skimpy shorts, delicate tees and frilly dresses have barely seen the light of day. However, to suddenly slip into cosy cashmere jumpers and bundles of layers is something I don't find very appealing in mid-August.

Therefore, I'm in need of some inspiration for what to wear on summer-meets-winter days. I for one am looking towards the pictures above. Floaty fabrics, loose but cosy shirts, monochrome converse and lightwieght cover-ups - the new uniform.

Are you excited for autumn?

Hike. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

It really is like people imagine the minute the word 'Switzerland' graces their ears. Cows with bells, fresh, crisp air and mountain walks. Except yodeling - that doesn't exist out there. The only singing you'll hear will be from the crickets that nestle in the grass around you or the flutter of delicate wings from vibrantly coloured butterflies flitting past. Other than that the surroundings are peaceful, still and calm. Sunnegga, a hamlet which sits just above Zermatt, embodies this tranquillity. Our first day, as you can imagine, was incredibly relaxed up there. Click below to see more...

Arrival In Paradise.

Leaving daily life behind in favour for a wild escape to the mountains is something we all fantasize over in our dreams. But last week, this harsh division between reality and dreams soon became a blurry line, for I was in my second home, at peace once again. I was in paradise; a little sun-drenched village in the heart of Switzerland called Zermatt. Click below to see more...
