Tuesday Ten: Why I Love Olivia Palermo's Street Style...

I'll admit, I'm in love with her style - who isn't? She can do high street and designer, couture and jeans and a tee, simple and clash prints, so let's face it - she can wear just about anything and still look so amazing. But what I really love about her style is that it's all so easy-to-wear and always a trend ahead. She accessorizes like no other (I mean c'mon, just look at that dog...so cute!), for example the outfit above: little pieces like her shoes, the cuff, the sunglasses (...the dog!) and the pocket all really elevate a simple jumper and jeans pairing. Plus, I love her hair and makeup - always. So, let's get cracking with the other nine outfits I adore of hers...

Tuesday Ten: Tips For Skirt-Ready Legs...

  1. Scrub Those Gams - I recommend Soap&Glory's Breakfast ScrubA great scrub will slough away dead skin cells, leaving your legs polished and primed for increased moisturizer absorption. To make your own, simply mix together olive oil and sea salt with a squeeze of lemon juice until it's a thick paste.
  2. MoisturizeTwice a day - once in the morning (after your shower) and at night before you go to bed.
  3. Shave Smart After shaving your legs, use an alcohol-free lotion to avoid razor burn and irritation.
  4. Sit Tight - Although you should be exercising your legs regularly anyway, a good toning/ firming serum is always a good start. I haven't used it yet, but I've read tons of amazing reviews about Soap&Glory's Sit Tight Intense XS Body Firming Serum which helps reduce the appearance of cellulite, plus firms, re-hydrates and smoothes skin.
  5. Be Mindful - Especially with what you put into your body! Be sure to really cut down on your intake of refined sugars and salt.
  6. Glug It Down Staying hydrated is also really important if you want to reduce bloating and water retention. How is keeping hydrated important for legs? Well, keeping hydrated improves skin moisture (and then of course...other obvious reasons as to keeping hydrated) which is important for silky legs.
  7. Lunge, lift and squat To keep your legs lovely year round, get in the habit of squeezing in a few sets of lunges, leg lifts and squats every day. This will totally pay off come summertime.
  8. Long, Lean Legs - Try Kaboose's 10-minute leg toning exercises. They're super easy and work great. Do ballet-style plies, calf/heel raises, hip abduction and walking lungs.
  9. Rub In Oil - oil? For your legs? Yes, really - oil is actually essential for the body. You know when you see an advert and the model has really shiny legs? She/he uses body oil.
  10. Keep it tanNothing slims your legs like a great tan! My favourite is St. Tropez Gradual tanner, it doesn't rub off on whites or bedding, streak or look orange. A gradual tanner is good because you can build up the tan so it looks more natural.

Celebrity Update: My Favourite Recent Looks...

Olivia Palermo, Jessica Alba
Julianne Hough, Leighton Meester
Another picture from Jessica Alba, Kate Bosworth
Hi everyone, hope you all had an amazing weekend and are ready for fresh, good week. I had a really important maths exam today, and well I done really bad, seriously bad and I'm kind of worried - but nothing stops me from doing a daily post :) I tried my best and that's all I can do I suppose?! Anyways, celebrities have really upped the fashion stakes lately I've noticed and I'm really loving their cool Summer styles. I have no idea though why the pictures are all really pixelated and blurry, I think that happened when I put the two photos next to each other (collaged them on Picmonkey!). But hey, I hoped you enjoyed a good celebrity fashion update. Celebrities especially Jessica Alba, Kate Bosworth and Olivia Palermo really inspire me. Have a fantastic week!

Recent Buys...

Wow haven't done a 'Recent Buys' post in ages! Well, over the last month I haven't bought hardly anything at all, apart from obviously these above. I really need like a white lace top...that I desperately want to feature in a recent buys post :) ! Moving on from random desperation's... so I bought lots of magazines (Glamour, Company and then I picked up the free handbook in Jack Wills last week) and got lots of tips on  how to get a bikini bod' and surf-ette hair which, come Summer will be very much needed! And then, I snapped up this cute dip-dyed t-shirt in Topshop (which I bought last month) and it will be cool to wear in the Summer teamed with hot pants and a blazer - amazing combo.

My hair feels lustrous and salon-like lately thanks to my new best friends, Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture shampoo and conditioner which I bought in Superdrug (half price, for jumbo sized bottles!) last weekend and boy, they're incredible. In fact, Tresemme products work really well with my hair and I really think that their shampoo and conditioners are the truly the best I've ever tried. Buy them now! I read that celebrities use NIP + FAB moisturizers and products so wanted to try the sweetly named body butters myself. Coconut Latte and Pistachio Sundae...Mmmm :)

My most recent buy being the Revlon Sheer Blush nail varnish which is so pretty (I'll write another post on that later, the Maybelline BB Cream too.) on my hands its sheer enough to see the white strip at the end of the nails (what do you call that again?!) but thick enough to be noticeable (it makes my nails look longer, shinier and healthier) and lasts for about a week with up to no chips and with only two coats! Finally, Maybelline's BB Cream - its amazing and I'll write a review on that later.

What have you bought recently? Please share! Have a nice week, hope you a good weekend!

How To Choose the Right Foundation Formula For You...

When it comes to cosmetics, foundation is, uh, the foundation of your makeup routine. But choosing the formulation for your skin type, coverage preferences, and desired finish can be tricky. Click here to see how to choose the right shade, and let's get right down to the next step: the basics of selecting a foundation formulation. Find out more when you keep reading.

1.Tinted Moisturizer
  • Coverage: Sheer, with a lightweight formulation
  • Who it's for:  People with normal to dry skin
2.Liquid
  •  Coverage: The most versatile, provides anywhere from sheer-to-full coverage, depending on formulation.
  • Who it's for: All skin types. Just read the label for the one that's perfect for you.
3.Cream and sticks
  • Coverage: Medium to full. Gives a natural-looking finish that's easy to build upon or tone down.
  • Who it's for: Normal-to-dry skin.
4.Mousse
  • Coverage: Lightweight with medium to full coverage.
  • Who it's for: Normal-to-dry types, specifically great for aging skin, as it's less likely to cake.
5.Cream-to-powder
  • Coverage: More than tinted moisturizer and liquid formulations, but less than regular creams and sticks. For sheer-to-medium coverage that's less creamy, try a similar, yet drier, dual-finish powder.
  • Who it's for: Those with normal-to-slightly oily skin
6.Mineral Powder
  • Coverage: Can build easily from medium to full.
  • Who it's for: Medium-to-oily skin types.
