Checking Out

My own photo from last year's trip
I'm afraid I'm running away to Zermatt, Switzerland for a week and as always, I'm opting to not post while I'm away. Holidays are for taking a break from quotidien life so not blogging is merely compulsory.

I promise faithfully to update you with lots of news and adventures when I’m home, in the meantime you can find me here or here.

Auf wiedersehen!

One-Stop Shop: Autumn Dressing In Zara

Pinafore // Shirt
Would you believe it, summer has only just begun in London and I'm talking about autumn. Yet it seems I'm not the only one; shops are inundated with all things jewel-toned, leopard print and cashmere. So as a retail sales assistant myself, I can't help but think of a more autumnal time amongst my surroundings. Subsequently, with this mind-set, I may (okay, was definitely) online shopping and stumbled on some rather beautiful garments that are only making me more excited about my favourite sartorial season. While there were some great stylish options at Topshop, Urban Outfitters and ASOS, it is once again that my trusty Zara has got it spot on. Rich in decadent fabrics, detailed embroidery, unique cuts and autumnal shades, Zara has everything you will need come fall.

Bloggers I'm Loving Lately...

Photos courtesy of EJ Style
This is a recent blog discovery and I blame Emma's very enviable Instagram for making me stumble upon it. Emma Hill is the blogger behind the very successful blog EJ Style, which is on all things fashion. Initially founded as an "outlet to express [her] passion and love of fashion", it is now a full time business and an influential blog worldwide. It also happens to be one of my all time favourite blogs, albeit I have only been reading it for several weeks. Hill's style is incredibly chic, minimalistic and cool. Perhaps her blog is my favourite since we both share a penchant for denim, but her love of the high-street makes her looks approachable, down to earth and accessible too.

10 Great Reasons Why You Need To Visit Barcelona...

Seventy-two hours was all I needed to fall head over heels for Barcelona. The European city stole my heart in more ways than I thought was possible and I'm already excited about the next time we will visit. If you haven't yet taken a trip to Barcelona, perhaps I can persuade you. Here are ten great reasons as to why the Spanish city should be next on your bucketlist...

Ways To Style: Summer Denim

I love denim. Denim jeans, shirts, jackets, shorts, skirts - you name it, and I either have it or want it (it's an obsession my purse nor bank account admires). There's something about this tough fabric that is quintessentially cool, perhaps due to it's manifestation of the nineties or it's effortlessly stylish wearer. It adds a certain toughness to an outfit that would be absent without it, and when teamed with other fabrics such as silk or leather, an outfit becomes instantly playful, chic and cool.

Yet, denim can be a little warm for the summer months due it's thickness. But, with a little know-how and styling, and you'll never be denim-free. Here are a few ways you can style denim for summer...

Beach Bums in Barcelona

Ah, our final day in Barcelona. We saved the crowded tourist attractions until future visits and instead headed to the beach for a slice of r&r. The beach is pretty crowded too, but there's fewer selfie-sticks and elbow nudges. We grabbed our bikinis and and ran out of our hotel, eager to bathe in the sun.

But first, brunch. Always.

Sun, Sea and the City, Barcelona

Opening my eyes to glorious, piercing sunshine and blue skies in Barcelona is what I would rather be doing right now, but here I am, bound behind my computer screen, reminiscing over the photos I'm about to share with you all.

Our second day began with a healthy breakfast in Flax and Kale; a place where we'd had lunch the day prior and enjoyed it so much that breakfast there was jotted onto the itinerary immediately.

From Gelato to Mojitos, Barcelona

Last week my sister and I popped over to Barcelona for a whirlwind tour of the Spanish city. After a very early start and a delayed car transfer, we arrived in the city at around lunchtime, giving us the perfect opportunity for a delicious bite to eat in Flax and Kale. We heard about this healthy-eating place from a vast array of sources, from magazines to blog posts, and felt it was our duty to see what all the hype was about.

The Bardot Top - Five Ways

Top, skirt, sandals, bag, earrings, ring (top), ring (bottom)
I'm not usually one to follow trends but I am rather loving the ubiquitous Bardot, a.k.a 'off-the-shoulder' top. Forget shiny pins and sun-kissed arms, this season's most-displayed body part is the shoulders as high streets fall for the Gallic charms of a clavicle-bearing neckline named after fifties icon Brigitte Bardot. However, as they are so incredibly popular and favoured by all, they can become tiresome for they are always teamed with the same item; the skinny jean. Thus, today I've steered clear of this slim fit denim and opted for other alternatives to inspire new pairings. From embroidered mini skirts, to mom jeans and daisy print midi skirts, here are five fresh ways to wear the Bardot top this season...

Polpo and Pastels, Chelsea

There are many things that please me about London, but the delicious food and beautiful houses are top of the list. Yesterday, my friend Sarah and I headed into Chelsea to indulge ourselves in just those - mouthwatering Italian tapas served at one of my favourites, Polpo, and storybook townhouses down Bywater Street.
