Polpo and Pastels, Chelsea

There are many things that please me about London, but the delicious food and beautiful houses are top of the list. Yesterday, my friend Sarah and I headed into Chelsea to indulge ourselves in just those - mouthwatering Italian tapas served at one of my favourites, Polpo, and storybook townhouses down Bywater Street.

Polpo is my favourite restaurant for many reasons; it's tapas meaning you get to try lots of the dishes, everything is packed full of flavour, and it's all incredibly delicious, simple and good. The surroundings are equally comforting, with a warm and rustic ambiance that reflects the gloriously faded elegance of Venice, and the of charms of its backstreet wine bars.

I've been to this Venetian joint many times, and having tried quite a few of the dishes, can reveal to you all the best to try. Firstly, the Spicy Pork and Fennel Meatballs are an absolute must, alongside the Grilled Foccacia, Milan-style Chicken and Flank Steak with Mushroom and Garlic. I've also tried the Potato & Parmesan Crocchette and Spinach, Parmesan & Soft Egg Pizza which were absolutely delicious, but the aforementioned bites just have that edge.

A few loosened buttons later and we were strolling down Kings Road, dashing in and out of shops before strolling around gazing at the million-pound properties. It's an absolute dream of mine to live in a townhouse like one of these - picture perfect and truly British.

I'm wearing:
Jacket - Topshop

Choker - Topshop
Bag - Warehouse
Watch - Michael Kors
Aviators - Ray Ban

I have actually seen so many photos of Bywater Street on Instagram but it was unbeknown to me that these candy coloured abodes nor the street resided in Chelsea.

We thankfully stumbled upon it on our travels and, of course, took a million and one photos...

Then off for a bit more shopping before we headed home and parted our ways. A truly fun day being a tourist in our own town - la dolce vita!

Have you been to Polpo and/ or the Chelsea area before?
