Christmas Date at No. 197

My sister's birthday is always a little teaser of what's to come at Christmas. We head to a restaurant we love, order up their mighty Christmas menu and scoff it all up.

Not quite the humble masterpiece my mum serves on Christmas Day itself (but nothing will ever compete with that...*I know you're reading this mum!*)

So today we ventured to No. 197 Chiswick Fire Station, since we were so impressed from the time we visited before. With pink velvet sofas and cacti in abundance, how we could not give it another go!

My grandparents looking quite the couple.

No. 197 has serious interior goals, with every corner being extremely Instagram-worthy. We were placed by the beautiful Christmas tree and eyed up everything on the menu...before deciding the classic turkey and trimmings was much too irresistible!

Mulled gin served hot, steamy and mighty strong (just the way we like all things, ey ladies!)

Birthday girl looking drop-dead beautiful! Possibly my favourite photo of her.

In the midst of giggles, our dishes arrived and were devoured within a matter of mere seconds.

This truly was a lovely Christmas dinner. Each element was cooked and served to perfection.

But we left a little room to complete our traditional Christmas dinner...sticky toffee pudding! This was quite the corker and unlike any other I've tried before. Sticky and gooey on the inside, and a little crunchy on the outside, and drizzled with butterscotch ice cream and toffee sauce.

Then it was time to kick back and relax after a long day's...eating?

We happily tucked into a rich round of coffees.

Before deciding it was time to walk it all off and head back outside into the wet and windy weather!
