Happy New Year! Most Popular 2012 Posts & Resolutions:

Happy New Year everyone! Cheers to a whole 'nother 365 days of 2013! My year starts off pretty miserable with three major GCSE exams but then I'm escaping to Switzerland in February for a skiing holiday, so it's going to be a good year! I would just like to say how grateful I am for all you reading this blog, I don't know where I'd be without it. It means so much when I see the pageviews go up and up. I definitely (If I say so myself...) think my blog has come on leaps and bounds since 2012. When I look back at the whole year I think, 'wow, I've improved'. Hopefully, you think the same, ha!

Here are the posts with the most views of 2012:
And now for my new years resolutions:
  • To wear more print and colour.
  • Create twitter for this blog :)
  • (I start a job in January) Work, work work!
  • Treat everyday like it's my last, 'live life to the fullest'.
  • Look after my skin better.
  • Do more yoga.
  • Focus on school work and study hard for exams!
  • Look after my hair more but cut down on the time I spend styling!
Cheers to a fresh start! Love you guys :)

The Colour Combo of 2013: Cornflower Blue & Yellow

(From left to right) Miranda Kerr x2, Aimee Song, anonymous, Ashley Madekwe, Hanneli Mustaparta x2.

Just you wait and see, 2013's only around the corner and trust me, this is the colour combination of the season. There's something so happy, mellow and expressive about this colour combination that's simply stunning for Spring. It looks equally nice as it does with leopard print a la Miranda Kerr and Ashley Madekwe as it does with silver and black accessories.

Only one more day of 2012! Happy New Year to all!

On My Shopping List: Grey Boucle Jacket

This coat is the new 'Litas' (remember those?) for bloggers and celebrities like Emma Stone and Miranda Kerr. I for one am loving it. There's a sense of masculinity about this jacket and it's cross-way between a motorcycle jacket and an oversized blazer. It's smart yet edgy, preppy yet retro. If your not into the androgynous trend then simply team the jacket with a peachy coloured top and burgundy skinnies and ankle boots. Or, if you are, then team it with ankle boots/ creepers, skinny jeans, a white tailored shirt and a fedora.  Here are some high street versions, it's surprising how many there are...

(From left to right)
  1. Zara Fantasy Fabric Cape, £69.99
  2. Zara Boucle Knitted Jacket, £49.99
  3. Topshop Zip Biker Jacket, £79.99
  4. ASOS PU Biker Coat, £95.00
  5. Urban Outfitters Lux By Sara & Aimee Berman Grandfather Coat, £70.00
  6. Urban Outfitters Cooperative Gold Boy Jacket, £50.00
  7. Urban Outfitters Won Hundred Factory Cocoon Coat, £200.00
UPDATE (30/12/12): I bought one! Its from Zara but non of the above, I'll show a picture of it later :)

Latest Style Crushes: Miroslava Duma and Hanneli Mustaparta

Hanneli Mustaparta

Miroslava Duma
I've been lurv-ing these two beautiful ladies lately. Their fashion really, really inspires me and hopefully will reflect on my style! Miroslava is a former Russian Harpers Bazaar editor but is now a freelance writer and founder of style at website Buro 24/7. Her style is bold, retro, eclectic and fashion-forward (Above are my favourite looks from her). Whereas, Hanneli (Norwegian), who is a photographer, fashion blogger, stylist and former model, prefers looks that are slightly less bold and rather than focusing on print, she focuses on colour and proportion. What I love most about the both of them, is how I've never seen anybody dress like them. Not even Olivia Palermo. Yes, really. I appreciate style that is new, original, unique but not too fussy and high-fashion. Sometimes fashion-forward trendsetters can be, well, a bit like this. These girls have taught me to never be afraid of colour and bold prints, to mix your personal style with current trends and that you should wear clothes not let the clothes wear you (don't be too out there).

Who are your latest style crushes? Happy Boxing Day! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas - I sure did! I might do a post of what all my presents were, let me know what you think :)

Oh, and check out this - it's on how to pose in front of the camera a la Hanneli Mustaparta style, its really interesting, bye guys!

Cara, Can I Be You?

I love the Delevigne sisters, they're all beautiful and incredibly well dressed. But, is it rude to say my favourite is Cara (shhhh!). If you don't know who Cara Delevigne is, she's a model. Cara's modeled for Burberry, Victoria's Secret showStella McCartney, Oscar De La Renta, Chanel, Vogue (etc.) and she's taken over Ashley Greene as the new face of DKNY. She just seems so natural, down to earth, genuine and funny when I see her in interviews and best of all, her hair, beauty and fashion is always amazing. Very natural, non-glamorous, casual. You'll never see this girl in high heels in the street - always sneakers, skinnies and a tee. Oh, and shes super funny, check out this, this and this for proof :)

3 Christmas Day Outfit Ideas:

Look 1: Shirt - Jack Wills, skirt - Topshop, clutch - Topshop, tights - Marks and Spencer, heels - Topshop. Look 2: cardigan - Jack Wills, dress - Topshop, flats - Repetto (click here), Look 3: cardigan - Topshop, white t-shirt - New Look, velvet jeans - Topshop, heels - Topshop

Look One: Casual Shirt and Dressy Skirt - I love a good, casual shirt tucked into a flippy skirt (sorry for all the rhyming!), it adds a nice contrast. This Christmas-y shirt from Jack Wills with blue, red and green stripes brings in the Christmas cheer! Add a festive, novelty jumper for added cuteness ontop.

Look Two: Statement Cardigan - Pair a simple, LBD with a statement cover-up like this sequin, fairisle cardigan from Jack Wills. It means you don't need a lot of jewellery to jazz the dress up as it takes center stage! Definitely go for a Christmas print of sorts.

Look Three: Textural Finish - A heavy knitted cardigan paired with red, velvet skinnies. Playing with texture adds oomph to an understated outfit. Add a leather bag for even more texture.

I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas! I also hope that this post helped some of you who were puzzled about what to wear on this special occasion - enjoy and have fun :)

P.S: This is my 600th post , hooray for many more to come :)

Gifts For Him: Jack Wills

Jack Wills is the place to shop for the men in your life. With scarves, socks, headphones, fragrances, gloves, mugs and more to excite your man! One of the best gifts (if I were a boy, of course) for me, would be the headphones - there so vintage and cool! Even as a girl I love them! A cute tie and notepad is also a nice present. And what's a Christmas without a pair of socks? Hope this gives you a few ideas. Also, some really good posts coming up on the weekend, bye guys!

What To Do Next?

I've been thinking lately that even though I have Pinterest and Bloglovin', I should widen my use of social media for/with you guys. Like a cool Youtube channel or Twitter etc. I'm rather tempted for a Youtube channel, but I don't have a camera that's good enough for filming. Maybe one for my birthday or something. It would be really cool to 'vlog' my skiing holiday in Switzerland in February and film fashion and beauty videos and tutorials. Thing is though, I've attempted to make videos in the past and just look and sound so cheesy because I don't usually talk to a camera! Twitter, Instagram or a Facebook page would also be pretty amazing. Its another good way of interacting with you guys and expanding this blog. So below, I've listed a few ideas, pick your favourite and leave the choice as a comment in the box below...

  1. A Youtube Channel
  2. Twitter
  3. Facebook Page
  4. Instagram
Thank you for reading! I was going to make a poll to make it easier for you guys rather than taking the long-winded time of leaving a comment, but please help me out! Thank you :)
