Tuesday Ten: Must-Haves For Coachella Festival Style

Everything is from Topshop apart from the shorts which are Victoria Beckham, headbands are Dorothy Perkins and the hat is Forever 21.
It’s that time of year… festival season! Over the next few months, hipsters, trendsetters and music-lovers alike will be flocking to various music festivals all over the country. If you ask me, there are four major must-haves when packing for a fashionable festival getaway: shorts (more comfy than skirts), lightweight tops (it’s hot), comfortable (but stylish) footwear and a few breezy dresses. Coachella is the probably the best festival for fashion inspiration. If your living in England like me, then Wireless, Glastonbury and other cool festivals are also great too. Without further ado, her are my must-pack fashion picks for Coachella style...
  1. Loose tops - There's nothing like an easy breezy top that can just flop about in the wind and need no fuss to keep in place. Vests, tees, bralets, camisoles only ladies, no shirts or blouses!
  2. Flower child shorts - You can't go wrong with adorable daisy dukes or cut-offs. Pretty lace or acid denim - both work brilliantly with Coachella style.
  3. The sundress dress - when it comes to dresses, its all about them being either maxi and minimalistic or loose and midi. They look relaxed yet oh so chic.
  4. Booties -  I'm always up for practicality in footwear and hooray because festival footwear is all about comfort. You'll be doing a lot of walking, plus someone may tread on your feet if you wear something open-toed.  No ifs, ands or buts about it. Keep the sludge and mud off your toes with booties.
  5. The floppy hat - Wrinkles don’t look good on anyone. Protect your beautiful skin and keep it chic with a floppy hat like the yellow trimmed option in the picture.
  6. Stylish sunnies -  One of the biggest perks of daytime parties? Wearing your favorite sunglasses! The purple large flat top sunglasses in the picture from Topshop, have the retro vibe I love.
  7. Haute headbands - Unfortunately, high temps mean there’s a high chance you’ll be sweating (I prefer the term “glistening”). Combat excess glimmer by keeping your hair off your face with a cute headband.
  8. Crossbody bag. You’ll need full dancing abilities so don’t even think about lugging a cumbersome shoulder bag around the festival grounds. A crossbody bag or backpack is a must.
  9. Stacked jewellery - Nothing says festival chic than layered boho bracelets and necklaces. I think Free People and Nasty Gal are great stores to buy stacked, retro/boho jewellery.
  10. Cool cover-up - As the sun dwindles down; especially here in England; it can get a little chilly. So, even though you'll be dancing the night away and possibly working up a sweat, just throw something over the top (like a beach cover-up over a bikini) to give you just a bit of coverage. Nothing like a jacket or coat, something lightweight like an open denim shirt or a thin knitted top.

  1. Hi, I'm Cindy and I'm from California - I'm heading to Coachella this weekend, so glad you wrote this post in time for it. I'm shopping tommorow at Target but might stop by in Topshop and Forever 21 too. Great pieces, really helped me out. Good job, girl!
